Thanks Jackal. I would love to make them out of some kind of synthetic material. Where can I purchase the material you were talking about? I live in Canada.That looks really nice. Something to consider, now you got all the hard work done, fab up a set using 3/8" UHMW material, its already black throughout, impervious to moisture, easy to works with for drilling and cutting, and nearly indestructible if you put it on its side.
I like your idea in how you did this, I have seen a few self fabbed doors from UHMW before and they ended up being very durable yet nice looking while being light weight.

Great thanks for the links!Here is one source, this is 3/8" thick they also have 1/2" thick but that heavy isn't needed for doors.
