Hello all,
I just purchased a 2016 Honda Pioneer 1000-3 EPS with 970 miles. I have read a lot of information on here about recalls and something about a “clutch update”. I am wondering if Honda will update the clutch free of charge on my 1000. I’m bringing it in to the dealer for safety recalls and would like to get this addressed while it was there.
What do I need to do to get this done? Can anybody on this website help me? What all should be done to my machine? I really enjoy it so far. It’s been my dream to own a Pioneer. I’ve had Hondas all my life!
Thanks!

First have the dealer run the VIN, the clutch update may have been done already?

The Clutch update was only offered for a set time. It was not a recall and had an end date for free installation.

Only recalls are infinite until all units are done.

If the update hasn't been done, make sure the dealer inspects the outer clutch for damage or you'll be right back in there.

You may want to check if u havent already to see if that update was already done? Heres a link on how to find out. Let us know what you see?

Now, you've been here a while and you knew this was coming 😂 You finally got a machine and no pics but a small one of the grill and nose! 🤨 We need more than that! Lol

Not sure if they'll go back that far on a recall? Free of charge anyways???
You should be able to just give dealer your VIN and any recall/issues should pop up in the system...
Yes it should be free of charge if there was a recall. I’m aware of 3 or 4 that has to be done.

How much will it cost me to have the clutch updated by the dealer?

GOOD NEWS!! GOOD NEWS!!
I called a local dealer today, gave them my VIN # and they told me the clutch cover/update was done to my Pioneer! This gives me a lot of peace of mind because I was concerned about it for the future. They will also be performing all the recalls when I bring it in, in a couple weeks, along with servicing all the fluids and filters. There’s about 4 recalls or so that need to be done.
I want to THANK ALL OF YOU for replying to my posts.
