Well shucks, I was working on my P5 today and found this. Anybody replace this yet? Is there a band aid fix to get me through this weekends ride?

A arm guards should be in the first round of accessories on any of these machines.
If you take another look at the picture I posted, A-arm guards (which I have had on my P5 for years), wouldn’t have protected this boot. ;)

Cool, did it hold throughout your trip? Is it still holding? Thank you for the tip!!

Surprised me, but it did hold for the 2 week trip to Colorado. I drove it hard in some thick dust and then the last few days we had lots of mud. I never checked it while I was out there, just figured on enjoying the trip and replacing the whole thing when I got home. When I did get home the boot was encrusted in concrete like black mud. I pressure washed it off and was stunned to see the Shoe Goo looked just like it did when I applied it. No loose spots or anything. Instead of replacing the boot, I'm now just going to keep an eye on it and see how long it lasts.

Awesome, think I’ll do the same thing. Thanks for the valuable info. I’m still wondering if anybody’s had to replace that boot, and what kind of a chore it is???

Yep, I agree. Was not long ago I was in his situation. Cost me over $200.00 to get fixed. I now have guards installed.

A-Arm guards will not protect the boot that is torn on my P5. ;)
