i am looking for the white with a black stripe wire to tap into for my winch. I located it under the fuse box but it’s held down with I think a zip tie that’s connected to the red housing (grey). I’m not sure if I should cut it or if it will pop out with a good tug.

What would be the best section should To pull back the black wrap to tap into that key on white and black wire. Trying to keep it simple and clean.

The cleanest install will be using this plug and play option.
KEY ON POWER Harness for Honda Pioneer 1000, 700, 500, and Talon 1000.

Not super easy to install, but keeps from piercing factory wiring.

That’s cool. Does that harness come with instructions/pics when ordered? Or can that be found here in the forum somewhere?
Easiest access I had to that spot was before I installed my windshield.
Remove hood.
Stand in cab
Shove arm down the firewall
Easiest access to power port.
Although this harness came to light AFTER I installed my goodies. I installed my winch remote right next to the power port. That position was the easiest for me to attached the nuts retaining the winch remote.

Does this install by unplugging the back of the DC accessory port and replugging it into the new harness?

If so that’s a pretty tight “feel only” area. Anyone have any issues unplugging and reconnecting without having to take anything else off?

Best access point to that plug from under the hood? I didn’t check to see if going under the pioneer would be easier.

From the passanger front tire is where I access it. Removing the tire helps alot too as you can sit down and have a good line of sight.

Also. If you have a switch panel. Cutting a hole big enough for your hand and it's right there under the panel.
