I would recommend buying based on future wants not just current needs. I don’t own and haven’t ever owned aluminum trailer so no real feedback on how they work out but do like the light weight aspect. Best of luck in your search.

that's what I use have no problems no regrets light enough to move around by myself.

That’s what I use, put over 4k miles on mine this year, overall it’s a good trailer, factory tires suck as mine are bald and need replaced, otherwise it’s been great, tracks very true and hauls the 1000-5 easily.

Personally a 12ft is great for a sxs, I have multiple trailers though so my sxs trailer is really only used 90% of the time for the sxs. Plenty of room for coolers and gas cans, can also use the bed of the 1000-5 if needed.

My cousin uses one to haul his rig around and it seems like a really nice trailer. Last summer he had it parked along a busy road, when an older gentleman decided he would like to drive along the sidewalk. The trailer took the weight of the explorer really well. After a little fix on the tailgate, a little adjustment to the deck and a new fender it is good as new. Thank goodness he had his rig in the shop working on it, but I wouldn't be afraid of an aluminum trailer.

What are the thoughts about the Carry On brand. I see some comments regarding the Alumna trailers.

I have a Carry On 6x10 landscape trailer with the steel sides I used to haul the Honda on before I just bought the 12 foot Aluma. The Carry On has had the piss beat out of it hauling rocks, firewood, dirt and still going strong. All my friends use it to haul their free firewood from the farm here. My only complaint is the end gate is not removable. When getting loaded with a ton of wood pellets they would always have to use blocking to push the pallet far enough on the trailer. A ton of pellets on a pallet doesn’t slide very well on a wood deck.

My 14' aluma is perfect. Plenty of wiggle room for my 700 and I can throw a four wheeler on if a buddy wants to go.

We’ve got two m.. a 14’ single axle and a 20’ tandem car hauler. I wouldn’t go shorter than 14’ and I prefer a tandem if you have any plans of hauling any distance.

That is the brand of my trailer above, got mine from Northern Tool.

Aluminum trailers are great. So nice to be able to pick up the tongue and move around. No wood decks to mess with. I've had a 5x10 for my P500 since 2016 ($2300 OTD with a bifold ramp and spare tire). Besides planning for future use having the trailer a little longer is always good so you can adjust the tongue weight easily.

Good point. My buggy positioning is completely different depending on a day ride vs loaded for a trip.
