I know and I don't blame ya! Nothing starts a trip out worse than equipment issues on the way!
If i dont remove and repack the bearings i would ne double checking every stop! Just a tip! I carry a HF thermometer gun with me to check for hot berings every stop.

I just had mine all redone. Bearings, tires replaced one tweaked axel . It was new to me and dont believe it was touched since it was new in 08. And 6yrs is life for trailer tires

I learned the hard way, I only use trailer service tires and replace after 5 years nomater how many miles. I had to leave my tracktor and my wife on the side of the road after blowing 2 tires and that was after installing the spare in the restaurant parking lot. 3 tires within about an hour.

Tramguage1 I had something similar happen to me back in 2000 with a 2 horse trailer going from Mississippi to New Mexico. Hate it when It happens.

Ive read its a good idea to air down before you cross hot areas like az. Or desert country because the tires heat way up and blow from pressure.

My problem was that in Mississippi I am at 500 ft above sea level and in New Mexico I was at 5000ft so the higher u go the lesser air pressure in the atmosphere so the air in my tiers expanded and busted my tiers. When I checked the tier pressure after my second blowout my tires where at 75psi when I left Mississippi they were et 40psi.:confused:o_O

A week before the Takeover last year, i had to replace all four tires on my GMC 2500 and my trailer. Im starting to see a pattern!

But airing down causes more heat from increased rolling resistance. Catch 22. I'd rather run proper inflation and the tire run cooler to begin with.

Try nitrogen, I had several blowouts on our fifth wheels, changed to nitrogen a few years back and seems better. I also now use a TPS, this alone has saved a blow out because it alerts when pressure increase or decreases or temperature rise. Being able to monitor while cruising is a comforting feeling.

I use the tst tpms system on my dually and my camper. Gives me pressures and temps of all tires.
