I'd like to see a wiring diagram and see what goes where. If it is a newer ecm, you might be able to jumper the wires for the seatbelt input.

Looks like there are 3 diagrams, only 2 of which have the seatbelt switch. A15 is the pin for the switch, and it is unused on older models.

Good idea, there's more changes than just a seatbelt safety thing though.... 2017 had different gears in the final drive on the transmission so the speed sensor signal is a different number of counts per rev and '17 & up had the "auto shift" option.

Yes. 2017 actually has its own diagram, and then 18 and up has another (the manual I am looking at only goes to 19).

So if I ground out A-15 that should signal that the seat belt is engaged?

The 15th one ( :) ). There might be tiny numbers cast into the connector. I can't access the manual right now. Your machine probably doesn't have a wire in the connector for it, so you'll have to get creative and get something on the ecu pin. Be gentle.

hahahaha...If this resolves the issue, I am going to set it to a toggle switch to keep my kids from going to fast.
Looking back through, it looks like you've already determined you have a 2017 ecm? Why not just get the right ecm?
Like I said, 2017 has a different wiring diagram from all the rest, so who knows what else works or doesn't?

I don't like to spend money unless it's necessary. If it doesn't work, I will buy a new one. If I fry it, I will buy a new one. If it works, I can spend $200 on something else.
