what does that mean, it’s unclear - they are buying you a new head and my guess new valves/valtrain - etc.Just a new head.
are they still splitting cases ?
Replacing rings ?

No they involved, just me. And just head. Look at section 15 in the service manual at what all has to take place to replace the pistons and rings. Then ya'll tell me if you think the 16 is a throw away motor. I think it is. I'll never buy another S x S with the transmission case and cylinders a one piece unit. Sorry Guy's I've been ill for a while and just now feel like messing with Rooster (P-1). New head is installed, they broke the header and mangled the muffler heat shield doing the install. Yes I did the repair my self! Yea I know! Been watching some Talon Turbo piston and ring swap out, they don't split the cases, drop the oil pan and take the pistons out the top of the cylinders. But the Honda Service Manual and three ace mechanics said split the cases. The Talon they didn't have to remove many body parts, the Pioneer a bunch, ROPS and front seat and frame. Watching the video looks like I was 4 man hours and parts away from new pistons and rings after removing the head. Good Grief! It's good to known you don't have to split the cases though. I should have taken it to the shop with the motor totally accessible from top, bottom and sides. I'll be at the TO with my Dad ,see you there.any updates?
so are they replacing pistons\rings?
did they fix the wallowed valve issue, whatever that means? does that mean the valve guide was screwed up, etc.?
