Terrible family tragedy last night 11-1-24

One of my best friends since early elementary school and my wife’s cousin was killed last night along with his wife and little girl in a helicopter crash. My friend was the pilot in his personal Robinson R-44 helicopter. Incredibly tragic to say the least. Many people are affected by this. Our entire church and community are affected.

I received the page through our volunteer fire dept to assist another district and immediately had a bad feeling about this. There are only 2 helicopters that fly here. The other is medical, based in our small town. I did not go to the accident as a fire firefighter but as family. The reason I don’t respond to vehicle accidents is that I don’t want to see someone I know, like this.

That’s awful. I lost a good friend in a Highway Patrol Helicopter crash a few years ago too.

He and I always dreamed of flying. My dad was an ag pilot for 30 years and somehow never crashed. I was always around those air planes growing up.
