Whatever happened to Quicksand?

When I was a kid, quicksand was certainly the way we would meet our demise. But I haven't heard about the stuff in decades. You guys ride around all over the country. Does quicksand still exist?

Yeah about 7 years ago I was horse back in KY! we were riding the creek beds and I sank Silver all the way down to the shoulder. It was like horse disappeared out from under me and I was left standing there holding the reins.

yeah once I got my boots out I just rolled off and we had to hook silver up to another horse and pull him out! that was the best horse I ever rode! he stayed clam and didn't hurt me and all he got was a scrape above the hoof and the chest strap cut in to his chest alittle.

I watched the original series like religion as a kid. What was dude's name? Johnny Westmoreland or something like that? ( I could Google it but trying to remember is fun too).
