P1000 What trailer are we all using?

Looking at buying a trailer for the 1000-5 this week, dual axle of course.

6.5 x 12?
7 x 12?
6.5 x 14?

What about enclosed with a side door?

Go 20 foot, wish I had, got an 18 foot and it would be nice to have an extra 2 foot sometimes.

Seriously? Hunting with my buddy's 6.5 x 12 (Teryx-4) seemed ok... but I could see the use for an extra couple feet. Never really considered anything longer than 14'.

Looks like most enclosed trailers run into height issues.

I have seriously thought about an enclosed and make a camper / toy hauler out of it. @JTW has a nice plan/lay out for that. No Homo!

If you have room to park it, longer will pay dividends down the road. The Talon is 8" longer than a Pioneer and this is how it fits on my 14' trailer. There's enough extra room for camping gear, etc. should the need arise.

That was my idea Smitty, if nothing else it would be better than a tent right? I'm not sure about plumbing, but it would be nice and water/wind resistant. Then again, I suppose just buying a toy hauler is an option but a really expensive one.

I have a Alcom 7x14 Stealth aluminum trailer. It has a camper door that is lockable from the inside. I also use mine for ice fishing. I have a 81” ceiling height.

like mentioned they can be easily converted to a sleeping space. With only roof insulation I heat mine with a buddy heater on high at -15F.

if I did it again I’d go with a 8x16 vnose.

@Vikes79 81" height... Looks like my rig is pretty close to 79" tall with the lid. Does the door on the trailer go all the way up?

I just have 7x12 with 2 ft dovetail. It gets the job done but not a lot of extra room. If I was doing it again I think I’d got for a v nose enclosed or tandem axle car hauler.

My ramp door opening is about 3” lower, but because the way the rig breaks over the edge at an angle it clears just fine with stock tires, Honda roof and stock suspension.

And obviously the side door allows access to get in the buggy... The idea of some fold down bunks and getting out of the weather is appealing for sure. We hunt Wyoming, and well... you're from SoDa I'm not telling you anything.

Yes I can get to the front easy. Having the v nose is nice.

I also have a boat load of etrack in the trailer. The runs are 3’ and 6’ off the floor around the perimeter and 4’ apart on the floor down the length.

I have moved and stored a BUNCH of stuff in my enclosed. It’s well worth the investment and IMO handy to have.
