P500 What is my issue.

The cv boot does not appear to be torn. Not sure where the oil is coming from.

Its either a pin hole or its cut at/under the band.
Pin hole can be fixed it it's small.
Cut can not.

I’ll bet there is a small hole in the boot. Look at the “wet” pattern and there really isn’t anywhere else it can come from.

It may not be "torn" but it has a hole in it somewhere.....guaranteed.

They aren't very expensive regardless of who you buy them from, I got one for my daughters Kodiak off Amazon for less than $10 shipped.

I would try cyanoacrylate (Krazy Glue) . It may be too brittle, but they make temporary gaskets by putting baking soda on it.

I suppose a good quality silicone might work for a temporary fix if the area was cleaned with a solvent....brake clean or similar...

Yes. ^^this.
I have had good luck with black silicone several times. Degrease it like mentioned. Skuff it up with something if you can, like a wire brush or file. Degrease it again. Put a dab on it and let it dry the recommended cure time. I've had one last a long time.

I concur, some silicon or similar product would likely work to some degree, but I would strongly recommend replacing it with a new one.

Kinda like duct tape, workshop jewel. If replacing one side due to wear, maybe do both at same time (like brake shoes) since tools are out? Then a good time to install a locker!

Ok guys. I found a tiny hole in the boot today. I was only able to see it when the light hit it just right. New cv boots are on the way.

This will be my first time replacing cv boots, so I hope all goes well.
