I've always used rainx on glass and clear plastic with no ill effects. I have used it on both sides of the honda 2 piece hardcoat windshield since last thanksgiving.

There is a Rain X or Rain X like product that is specifically made for plastic. I will take a look tonight and if I can find it in my garage I will take a picture and post it. Over time, Rain X will chemically react and screw up the plastic windshield.

I've used the rain-x Plastic for a while now with the exact same windshield. I does good.
