hey guys. I am gathering my parts list for the 2nd battery install for my winch and have everything ready for when I finally get the 2016 1000-5 from the dealer and I haven’t noticed on the dual battery install posts what was used to secure the 2nd battery.

How did you secure it? Part links are appreciated

Thanks

drilled into the plastic on each side at the bend...where it was the strongest

made a 1/8" aluminum strap and used stainless wing nuts

I bought the rubber mat that goes in a tool box to keep tools from sliding and wrapped the bottom 1/3 of the battery and tapped it to stay in place while I dropped it back in the hole. it was very tight and just hit the bottom. I'm going to have a hell of a time when I have to take it out.

So I have finally had time to work on the winch and add this 2nd battery.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. Here’s what I ultimately did:

Dremelled 2 slits in the bottom of the tray to pass a strap thru a lashing strap

Then I added self adhesive foam padding to make up the small gap so the battery fits snuggly. Foam Padding, Self Stick Adhesive... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZY83SZJ?tag=sxsweb24-20

Not one damn thing... just a thin white packing foam wrap around the battery.

The wires hold it in place... even when my daughter rolled it... the battery did not move.

Hose clamp. Got the idea from someone on here. I put some foam strips on bottom. Cut two slits in bottom of battery case. Got a 32” clamp I believe and cut to size. Nothing fancy. But easy fix.

That’s basically what I did but I cut my slit above the crossmeber so the strap wraps around it too.

Foam inserts from a pelican case on side and bottom No top strap. Don't plan on rolling it over. Knock on Wood.
