Does anyone know if Warn or any aftermarketers have developed any mounts for their Warn winches on the Honda Pioneer 1000?

I spoke with someone at KFI and they are working on a winch mount now. She said that they should have a release date and pricing in about 3-4 weeks.

Will it be available thru Honda then? The Honda one that I have seen on a forum had a whole lot of stuff besides the mount with it.

As far as I know then Honda one basically comes with half of the equipment you need to mount their winch. Thats why its has a price of 299.00. I am going to wait a few weeks to see what the pricing is just for the KFI mount and then buy the particular winch I want.

It does AND if you contact KFI directly you can "ala carte" their winches.
Downside to the Honda winch mount is it is small so it might only fit the WARN winch....

Yeah, that's my observation, too. I have a Warn winch that I took off my Razr that I traded in.

Back in September I had a chance to sit in a dealer's meeting with a KFI rep at a local powersports show. During the meeting he wanted to be sure that the dealers understood that all KFI's winch mounts were made right here in MN!

I already have a new Warn winch but will be buying a KFI mount.

Thanks; I'll watch for it and help the MN economy as soon as it's available. Please post when you know. Thanks again.

Interestingly, if you look at the specs for the winch that Honda will sell you, I believe you will see it is a 4500 Warn winch, so if you were in a hurry, and you had $300 to blow, the one currently available should work if you are mounting a Warn winch.

I was going to mount my 3000 Warn. Not sure it's big enough, but can't afford to upgrade now. I keep a couple of pulleys in my box.

Not sure what the recommended size winch would be required for the P100-5 deluxe. Wish someone had a good size suggestion. Does anyone know of a chart for weight of vehicle vs winch size?

I could be wrong but I remember reading that a standard rule is twice your loaded vehicle weight. So a 1000 lb machine would require a minimum of a 2000 lb winch. I fee that is low but I overdo just about everything. With enough snatch blocks you can have a smaller winch but where I ride, finding 1 thing to hook a winch to sometimes proves to be difficult

I think 4000lb is the smallest I would recommend.
