P1000 Valve Clearance

Checking my valve clearance on my 2018 today. The intakes are 0.006 and all the exhausts are 0.0095. I am seeing 2 different exhaust numbers in some of the posts .009 and .012. Which clearance would be correct.

Another 1000 owner will be along shortly to give you the info, but in the meantime, Honda almost always puts valve specs and tune up info somewhere on the frame on a tag.

I would go .012. Dont worry about a couple.Just make sure they are not tight.That causes problems.

.009" Between the lobe and rocker

.012" between the rocker tip and valve

Manual has been updated to show the change between the old .012" and the now recommended. 009". Its same as the Talon.

Thanks HondaTech for the update. I could not understand how all the exhaust clearances could be off exactly the same. Hopefully more people will see this.
