Has anyone remove the under hood pre filter box and just added a Uni Filter to the intake hood, if so how does it work out? What filter did you use?

I'm looking for a method to install a filter under the hood and not drill a hole in the hood or body.
The factory box with the cube coarse pre filter allows particles the pass thur I was thinking if I can find the correct size uni filter I could remove the factory box and install the uni directly the in intake where the box was, what do you guys think?

I have been running the Uni under hood system since I bought me 17 LE.
Here are the parts I used.

I did modify it slightly and went with 2 of these silicon elbows and a short length of 3," Aluminum tubing.

I think relocating the filter closer to the dash is a terrible idea, I always have water splashing up under the hood and off the front side of the dash. The 2017-2019 intake is probably a safer bet than a DIY underhood idea

I ordered some pre filter skins from Rocky Mountain UTV , received them and oiled one skin and clamped over the inlet port and oiled the second one and put over the stock snorkel filter. I think this will help out quite a lot. The skins are Part [HASHTAG]#1445290001Mfg[/HASHTAG]. [HASHTAG]#PC1344[/HASHTAG] after I put some miles on I will inform.
