You'll determine what you "need" based on how you ride in your environment. My machine is pretty heavily built, for example, but I have no need for a snorkel.

Thats why you need to snorkel. alot of vent lines are low. Its the most carful drivers that WILL get some kind of water ingestion. Its very inexpensive insurance. So If u don't snorkel and something stupid happens that u think would never and eventually will happen you'll say “ $hit! them dumb smellers on the forum were right, guess I should have not tried to know it all and snorkeled” plus, with the known problems of not snorkeling can also mean a red flag to buyers if u sell some day who are paying attention ;)

First off i have never called anyone on here dumb nor do i care to start.I did look at the stock air box and honda blocked off the vent going toward the front that was a good move. That makes sense how some were driving water into the box at speed with the vent open filling the box full of water. So the air intake is almost up to the hood so your telling me that you ran water up to the hood and over.Thats ok but not me plus some probably dont like the looks of a hose hanging out the hood plus how do you keep the rain from going down the tube when it sits out side.I do see the need for at least 2 vents tank& sub Joe

I didn't install a snorkel but do recommend vent extensions. @Bayouownbeer has a great kit with instructions. He also has a heat shield kit for the seat which worked very good for me.

So, even with the opening facing back it's been known to allow water that splashes up from wheel wells to enter. There is a simple "snorkel" mod that you just run a hose way up into the dash area, so not noticable at all. Like stated, a good cheap insurance. If you have any kind of water riding at all I would go ahead and vents all 6 spots and not worry about it, it's literally a 30 minute/$30 job.

As far as the heat, well I'm in South FL 😂😂 but I know for winter, a lot of the guys remove the little hatch door by the floor board (middle section) and they swear it gives enough heat to be comfortable. 👍 good luck!!!

again, thats snorkeling. You have the redesigned ”air intake” under the Hood. You dont have to snorkel it, but its recommended and there are a $hit ton of them on here that dont go through the hood ;)

I only use the term "snorkel" when referring to the air intake.
Then what do u call it when u extend your vent lines to keep WATER (key word here) from coming in, “vent line extended?” Well no $hit there extended! 😂
Its like sayin when or If u take Viagra and I dont btw 😂, and the ole lady says “are you viagraed?“
🤣🤣🥳
