I always thought they were kinds a yuppie thing, but could see where they would be handy.

My wife got me some for Xmas, they have saved me ass in the snow with tires and tracks, plus I've used them on my 4runner and even my F350. Never as a bridge, but they are strong. Obviously some more than others.

I double mine up for and have also used them as ramps although not very effectively

I doubled them up for use as a small bridge at the TO to help me and a few others get through a tight spot on Schoolhouse trail at RRB

MaxTrax out of Australia are very good quality but around $300. USAactiontrax are also very good.
