Just a little note to everyone here about something I learned on our last ride. My daughter passenger jumps out of the talon to take a few pics of my father-in-law stuck in a deep mudhole. While she is out of the machine, I decide to pull up. Well, she left the door open which caught a tree and bent back 180 degrees!!! To my surprise the door came back!!! No plastic was damaged and the door doesn't need alignment. However, it does have a little more resistance when operating. I'm looking at parts diagrams now to see how the hinge and post works. I know the stopper on the post has rotated beyond the normal limit so I need to adjust that. Had that been my RZR the door would have been ruined.

I did something similar on the driver's door - pulling out of the garage onto the trailer, I was hanging out the driver's door to locate on the trailer. Problem was that I was against the garage door opening, CRUNCH - it really sounded ugly but I can't find any damage - YAY!!! Having a suicide door, when open, it's behind my line of sight - out of sight = out of (my) mind. The Talon plastics are remarkably pliable, almost unbreakable - good job Honda. 👍

Yeah, I’ve had that happen a number of times without breakage....🙄

So after hyper extending the door, is there a way to readjust the stopper? My drivers door now opens too far and hits the back door. Do I just try to bend the stopper back that is welded to the tube, or has it twisted the tube?

Sorry. 2020 1000X4. Caught a tree and over-opened drivers door, similar to the comments from the other posters. No visible damage, except the “door stop” on the hinge tube is now allowing front door to open too far and the outer door skin now hits the rear door.

I’m assuming the door hinge tube “twisted” since nothing appears bent. I can’t put enough muscle on it to “twist” it back…was curious if anyone else has encountered this? I’m thinking of just installing a short bolt with washers in the visible hole so that the bolt head acts as a “spacer” to limit the door travel?

The flat surface in this pic is the fixed stop at the lower hinge that the door stop in previous pic meets to limit door swing. After over extending, there is a bout a 3/8” gap between the 2 if the door were to stop opening in normal position. That’s why I was thinking of a short bolt and washer thru the hole on the door part to meet this fixed stop to limit travel.

And thanks for allowing me to join this group! Love the Talon and meeting new friends! I should have said all that first…but I am in the middle of my door issue and becoming frustrated…my apology for lack of manners.
