Talon Axle nut size increased AGAIN!!! New hubs for 2023

We were pegging Honda on small changes not listed and this one came up.

For the second year in a row Honda has increased the Axle nut shaft size.

2024 = 24mm nut, 36mm scoket size
2023 (non s) = 24mm, 36mm scoket size

2022 (and 23 s models) = 22mm, 32mm scoket size.

2019-21 = 20mm, 30mm scoket size.

Also being told the 2023 (non s) has helical hub splines. So older hubs, including 2023 S models, are not interchangeable.

Not sure.
They said the hubs and splines changed as they now have a helical twist to them.

Lol... Just picked up a 32mm socket for my trail tool kit the other day. Got to grab a 34 now...

I'm a bit puzzled by these changes to axles. I haven't seen a single report of an issue with the older, smaller axle nuts around here.

Seems like Honda could focus their engineering efforts on things we're more likely to need - like injector plug wires on the P1000.

Mine used to move every couple races. I'd torque them to spec and install new cotter pins every time and in a few races the cotter pins would always look like Z's because the nut had moved.

Theres a few not many but a few.

They've had problems breaking at the splines when racing.

The injector crimp issue hasn't been a thing for awhile.
