Greetings everyone. After looking for eternity at solutions to add a easy quality sound system I chose the swamp donkey 4 speaker system. It arrived and now I am looking at the best way to mount. My problem being is I have the Honda glass windshield and the hard top roof. Looking at the supplied clamps for the roll cage it seems to crowd all of the roof and windshield clamps so they are inaccessible. It looks like it would work ok if it was moved back about 2 inches from where it is meant to mount.
I am wondering if anyone else has this situation and how you mounted the stereo. I was thinking of L brackets or running an angle along the front of the stereo and mounting thru the roof.
Any thoughts, ideas, pics?
thanks

Here's a few pics of my install from last week. Sorry, not the best view of the mounting brackets but I had these pics handy. I don't have my glass windshield installed yet but it all ended up fitting pretty good with the hard top. Mine came with 4 spacers for the brackets. I used 3 of them. I did have to lift up the top to install & it was a little tricky getting the clamps back on after the stereo was installed. This is my 2nd 1000 & 2nd Swamp Donkey install. I remember using all 4 brackets on the ends of the stereo on the first one. Worked fine. Hope this helps.

I'm considering this unit as well as my cousin has one in his Teryx that works great. I have the Super Atv flip up windshield and the Shadeidea mesh top. I hope to not run into issues if I do go with this one, good luck to you!

Thanks for the pics and info. Yes mine came with the same clamps and spacers. The only issue is with the Honda glass windshield if you want to be able to use the flip clamps the unit needs to be back about 2 inches from the front tube to allow the flip clamps enough space. The roof clamps are fine. I think i am going to have to use a piece of angle and mount thru the roof. Looking good and I did test the unit and sounds great to me.

Well I got the Swamp Donkey installed today. I used a 2 inch aluminum angle to set the front back to allow the swing clamps for the windshield and roof to operate so I can remove the windshield for summer operation to cut down on heat and dust. I added an aluminum bar to the top to replace the washers and add strength since I am not using the front roll cage as support directly but it instead bolts thru the roof support bracketsIMG 3962IMG 3963IMG 3964IMG 3965IMG 3966IMG 3967IMG 3968IMG 3969. Feels very solid and the stereo sounds great even at speed. It was a good day.

I had to move the corner roof clamps back about 12” to get everything to fit with about a 1/4” gap to the roof. Also had to Silicone a piece of rubber between the roof and radio unit to stop high volume rattling the roof. I was a little worried about wind catching the corners of the roof when towing but it doesn’t move at all towing 70+mph.
