Looks like a milk snake to me but I didn't think they got that big.

Good thing it is dead... Pretty sure that's a copper head, well used to be.

Lots of copperheads where we live and I've never seen one with that pattern and color. It looks like some non poisonous species native to your area. We don't kill non poisonous snakes because they do a lot of good with rodent control. We do kill all the copper heads, cotton mouths, and rattlesnakes we come across.

Thats the only species I ever see (the D.E.A.D. type) lol. I'm terrified of snakes like you would not believe.

Lots of copperheads where we live and I've never seen one with that pattern and color. It looks like some non poisonous species native to your area. We don't kill non poisonous snakes because they do a lot of good with rodent control. We do kill all the copper heads, cotton mouths, and rattlesnakes we come across.

We usually use cats and mouse traps for rodent control, and kill the snakes because I'm afraid that my wife will break her leg trying to jump out of the way of the snake regardless if it's poisonous or not! Lol

I rode without snake boots yesterday, and I was looking all over when I'd get out to walk around after my brother took that one and sent it to me. I stepped on 3 or 4 snakes (I think cottonmouth) a month or so ago while getting out to relieve myself before a creek crossing. I may or may not have jumped 4 feet in the air when I looked down. I assume babies/juveniles with them being together.

That's tough. With nearly 40 yrs of hunting, camping, and being out I have never come across a rattler or copperhead. I am always trying to look and worry more during turkey season, but I have been lucky so far.

Wow, that's amazing! I have to carry a pistol to pick black berries so I can knock back the rattle snakes. Of coarse, we have cotton mouth snakes living close to the water and last summer I shot a copper head in my drive way at home.

Ya. We killed two copperheads in our yard last year and there are cotton mouths nearby because we live very close to the Quachita River. Have never seen a rattlesnake up here on our mountain but we check the ground closely during snake weather.

I make it a point to kill a cotton mouth every time I go to our cabin. Our little water hole for deer usually has one on the edge every time I go down there. Nothing will make you *hit your pants more than hearing that rattle go off right after you set up on that morning gobbler.
