I have had 2 Duramax, 02 3500 and 08 2500. Also old Dodge 3500 Cummins. Traded the 08 last yr for 17 Ram Laramie 3500. I had heard the Rams were greatly improved over the Dodge, but could not believe the difference and what they had accomplished. It is the FIRST new vehicle of any type I EVER owned that I have not had ANY problems with in the first year, some of them the first DAY. It rides as good as the 08 3/4 Chevy and does not have ANY rattles in it. My ONLY disappointment is MPG. I had always heard how much better the Cummins were on MPG ....... BS, not better than the Duramax, but not any worse either. Normally, I only use it when I need a TRUCK, i.e. to haul something or tow. I had 16K miles on it at a year old and with ZERO problems/complaints. The Laramie came more loaded than the Chevy LTZ, even has a/c in the leather seats.
Edit ...... I traded in specifically to return to a daully. The 2500 just does not 'handle' the heavier loads like the 3500, esp in curves and stopping.
