Sidewall slug (tire gash repair)

I wanted to post this to let you all know of a product that is soon to be released. It's called the Sidewall slug and it's a repair kit for tire gashes while out on the trails.

This is a guy local to me that has been working on this for the past few years and is very close to making these available. I have no association with him but I just wanted to help promote what I think is a great product. He does not have a website up and running yet or otherwise I would post it. For you Facebookers, check out his page.

He has been working with Mudd Man to help get the word out on this repair kit

Last I heard testing was completed and they are awaiting mass production.

According to what he has said on Facebook, he is past the testing stage and just about ready to release them. He said they will cost right around $20 per patch. I plan on buying a couple of them when they become available.

Not me. Some other idot on a easy trail.
I enjoy ripping terrabite Kevlars to shreds. On my 3rd one in 300 miles.

I did it.. but I was also running about 40mph on a trail that was easy but had lots and lots of rocks. I suspect my tire pressure dropped a couple pounds with the cooler temps in the mountains and that’s what screwed me

I'm always amazed at how much pressure these tires will build over the course of a ride.

I run 8psi... I suspect mine dropped down around 6 and that’s what lead to the gash

I'll certainly carry one of those. On a big gash, you might have to still use a couple plugs and glue to get a seal, but this would be a great start!
