I have a 2.5 yr old and I’m looking to see what the best way to transport him. I was thinking about strapping his car seat in however NH requires helmets for atv riders. I don’t think a full high back car seat has enough room for a full face helmet.

How do you bring along the kiddos?

Took a trip few years back. Daughter was 3. Front center seat. In a 5 point car seat. With a bicycle helmet. I even made a dust visor for her across the brim. Worked very well. So much, she fell asleep and we had to bungie her head/helmet to keep it stable.

I'll find pictures. Maybe.

Sorry. No pictures could be found.
I remember we had to test a few car seats to find a good fit that was slim enough for us to have some elbow room. Overall great trip.

Car seats work for us. We wear helmets and goggles on the trails, helmets and glasses on the road. Boys are 2 and 4. I added hooks in the front seats to use the latch belts in the car seat and we use a ratchet strap in the back seat

Just got the Honda 1000-5 home yesterday after a 6hr+ drive to go get it. The little guy wanted a quick ride before bed. I tried using the middle seat belt to secure the carseat for a real quick install and I didn't find that it was securing the seat well.

@ToddACimer and @Hondasxs how did you secure the car seats? Does the seat belt have a locking mode? It seemed to leave the seat with alot of play.

I used a seat belt H lock for the first few rides and the center tie down in the bed for the upper strap. I've since added hooks for the car seat latch belt and I don't use the honda belts anymore

Thanks Toddacimer. How did you add hooks? Can you send a pic when you get a chance?

I have the 1000-5 and use the teather over the back of the seat to the center bed tie down. And ran the child seat hooks to the metal of the seat belt latches.
