I figured with all of the research and reading I have done here about others projects I would start one for my own. I called it Second Chance because that's what this is. I had a 2021 Pioneer that was decently well put together but certainly had areas I wasn't satisfied with. Well that machine met an unfortunate end thanks to a tire rolling off the bead and a subsequent rollover. I'm just not willing to put what it will take into fixing it, thought the running gear does seem to be in good shape. Picture of the last second it was functional below because we all like pictures right?

Anyway, new build and I have gone a little...maybe a lot nuts to make this machine what I want it to be. Some would say I should have bought a Talon, and that is fair, but I need the utility of the Pioneer day to day. I just want to be able to hit the trails a little harder than the base Pioneer is up to. An early goal is to enter some local 24hr/500ish mile Trail ride events early next year.

You might have seen it on the FB group.

It is a screen grab from a security camera at my shop. I’ll have to see about getting the video. It hurts my ego about as much as it hurts my shoulder still😂😂🤦‍♂️

For your viewing pleasure.

The back story is, we had been hanging out at the pool all day. I went to go feed horses, well protected in a bathing suit, slip on shoes and a ballcap🤣 You can see I was moving along at a decent clip, but it wasn't a turn that should have been problematic except for that right rear tire...that thing going out sent me for a ride... Bruised Ribs and a shoulder with unknown issues was the end result. I have an MRI coming up on the shoulder but it is back to 75-80% and improving a little each day so I don't think that's going to be too serious.

No matter how careful I am, a wiring project like this always seems to devolve into kind of a mess for me. This is work in progress and will be better when it’s done, but I just want it to look like it’s not a rats nest. 😂

Dual battery kit and winch solenoid to be added still. Somewhere.

So, wife flew home from the Paint Horse world show in Ft Worth and was sick as she could be. So I took the holiday to work in this project:

LED headlights finished
Dual battery/shutoff/key on switch finished
Seizmik mirrors installed
Realized I have the wrong switch for my winch, but mounted the solenoid anyway.
Street legal kit finished

Biggest victory is the aux electrical system. Lights and everything else go easy with that completed. The wiring isn’t the work of art some here have done. But not terrible and it all works, so there’s that.

Also..had a helper for the day.

The pup is adorable. Hopefully it was bringing you the screwdriver and not running off with it. 🤣🤣

Small progress lately:

PV3 installed with a few Florida Cracker tunes, still running the farm tune while the machine is new but I like the improved shifting.

40" light bar added

Getting close to delivery time on the TTC long travel kit so a real transformation is soon to happen. 4 pretty Elka Shocks showed up yesterday

Harness bar from Dirt Road fabrication arrived as well, so now I need to choose harnesses.

Now the fun stuff .... TTC long travel kit arrived, true to form the first corner took forever and the next took maybe 45minutes. The rear should be a cinch. I REALLY need to get a skid plate ordered and deal with how to make that work with the rock sliders.

Front and rear bumpers and rock sliders are coming by freight today so hopefully sometime this weekend it will be all back together and ready for a good shakedown.

On a side note, my wife stopped by while I was working on it, and casually asked " How does all this stuff affect the warranty?" 😆😆

Time for an update, Everything works!

The TTC 6" lift went on without much challenge as did the TTC front and rear bumper and a 6000lb winch. I've been running it around the farm and it rides great.

I did get out to push it some on a local trail system and was really impressed at how the Elkas soak up the bumps and ruts. Only downside was it was muddy as well, I hate the mud😂. It runs great though and i got brave and pressure washed under the hood after with no ill effects on all of my electrical work. So it must be sealed up appropriately!
