Anyone have any issues with the Rugged brand power steering for the P520. I’ve read on some older discussions here that Rugged and Tusk and one and the same. Is this true?

I have Rugged in my "21" 500 and have never had an issue.

I have the EzSteer on my p500. If you look up Tusk, Rugged and EzSteer all three look the same. I'd bet whoever makes them slaps different stickers on them.

I’ve read it but thanks for the repost. The rugged brand is a couple hundred bucks less than Tusk which was why I was wondering if they they were the same. I’ve also read that Ez Steer steering is easier and not so speed sensitive. Either way it’ll be night and day from stock!

Not sure if any other Tusk PS owners (@Red500?) have had this issue, but @KyGal83's seems to be even less power assisted (can't say 'stiffer' around this crowd) than ever. Seems to be fading. Low speeds feel little different than stock. She may chime in.

It seems unlikely that these things are different (they sure look the same), but our experiences with them are what they are.

EZ Steer is our brand. Those motors are our design. They have been scanned and replicated by other manufacturers, but EZ Steer is ours. The steering shafts, mounting brackets, and wiring is all our design as well. I'd assume they have also been scanned and replicated by other manufacturers.

Appreciate the feedback. I like all three of mine! 😁

You must be doing something right if people are trying to copy you. Love my EZSteer. Great product!

Yes, I am not please with my Tusk. It is absolutely noticeably “less assisted” at slower speeds. Which P5 owners know is majority of your driving. Futz’ fleet all have it and you can very much tell a difference between his and mine. Which has gotten worse over the last 2 years. I would not recommend the Tusk. I am considering replacing it with EZSteer.

@SuperATV .,. Since majority of the hardware is the same. Is it possible for me just to by the brain.. “control” box thingy.. to swap out?

I've noticed the same with the EZ Steer. Maybe not as bad as the other brands but with low RPM's it seems there's less assist.

I do believe the EZ Steer drops off a very tiny bit… but the Tusk goes from assisted to basically nothing. But fully assisted when stopped.

I will say I am lucky Futz’ fleet is near to have a direct comparison on with my buggy. We have done the comparison several times..
