P1000 Removing Shifter knobs

Has anyone removed the shifter knobs on a p1000? I ask because I bought some cheap shifter boots on amazon, as someone had mentioned on another thread, to put on to try and block heat from coming in. Any help would be appreciated

Just pull hard they will slide off

I made some of those previously but new window got in way because how the superatv has a bend in it.

I know this is old but what about that cover for shift pattern?

I used an inverted boot under the dash. It works great.I countersunk the stainless screw heads on the front side flush with the shift gate plate with stainless nylon lock nuts on the back..
