Hi,

This is my first post, and we are 3 months into our first SxS. Our first two trips out: 1 in June and 1 in July were "adventures" to say the least.

On our first trip 3 days after buying our 1000-5 Deluxe, we sunk it in a deep puddle and swallowed a ton of mud. After 8 weeks of waiting for a fuel pump assembly, we went back to the trails around Mulberry, AR and experienced a sliced tire on the first day. Needless to say both trips were "learning" trips. We now have tow straps, a winch and soft shackles. After the second trip, we now have a spare, patch kit and plugs and DC compressor. Still with these challenges - we love it.

The main reason for my first post has to do with two things:

1. the addition of a second battery which there is a ton of good info on, but leads me to ask the question number 2. I really like the clean set-ups that many have posted using the larger piece of Delrin that essentially covers the air intake area. What size is the plastic piece?
2. If you are covering the factory air intake area, where are you and how are you relocating the intake?

If there is a detailed post that explains this, please let me know.

Thanks Tim

Welcome to the club from Canton, OH. The motto here is pics or it didn't happen.

I'd suggest you extend your vent lines while you are doing the snorkel thing.

Here are the pics. Notice the pin is not on the trail. During the rescue, my guy took a wrong turn...
