Description
This recall involves all model year 2014 Polaris Ranger XP 900, XP 900 EPS, and CREW 900 recreational off-highway vehicles (ROVs). The recalled ROVs were sold in a variety of colors and have either three or six seats and a rear box. “Ranger” is printed on the rear box, and “900” is printed on the hood of the ROVs. All 2014 Ranger 900 models and Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) are included in this recall. To check for recalled vehicles by VIN, visit www.polaris.com.

Incidents/Injuries
Polaris has received 36 reports of the recalled ROVs overheating and catching on fire, including reports of three minor burns and one sprained wrist.

Remedy
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled ROVs and contact Polaris to schedule a free repair. Polaris is contacting all known purchasers directly.

Sold at
Polaris dealers nationwide from April 2013 through June 2014 for between $13,200 and $16,200.

It's popos short term replacement plan, within two years it's burnt up ,insurance pays it off, and you buy a new one.

is there seriously anyone out there who isn't afraid to turn the key on a popo. The only thing left is spontaneous combustion but I'm sure their development crew is working ferociously to accomplish that achievement in modern machinery as well.
Apparently the color of choice at Polaris is blackened, followed closely by charcoaled.

A sprained wrist could actually happen on a Honda if the safety nets are removed. The other one...well you'd have to hit a Polaris

I'm going to try to be sensitive and just say that I'm sorry Polaris is having problems and I'm sorry there are fellow 4 wheel enthusiast that are in danger.

Bought this for my niece, I was worried it had a Lithium ion battery made by Samsung. Looks like at least one Polaris is safe.

Actually the Samsung batteries are catching fire in the new Note, there was a recall and a stop sale/use. Sounds like it was some false reports possibly though.
