It's been awhile since I've posted or used my SxS. I'm getting pretty severe clicking noise out of my 700- 4 rear differential when I put it in reverse and back up. Fluids were changed about a year ago by the Honda shop but it seems noisier than I remember. Is this normal?

I have a 2017 700-4 and I don't recall any clicking in the manner you describe.

While you're likely thinking the worst case scenario, it could be something terribly simple

Check fluid levels, at the first 20 hour oil change I changed all oils, found the diffs oil levels off one high, one low.

Are you sure it's the diff? A CV joint that is attached to that same diff could be culprit.

Make sure a stick isn't wedged against rear brake rotor

I agree with Joey, I have had cases of a "rotational clicking" coming from cv axles in only one direction. I'm not saying this is your problem but highly possible. Worse case scenario you can remove one side at a time and drive it to see if the noise goes away. I can have the rear axles out out around 30 minutes.

I probably can't help you with your problem but I was curious how many miles you had on your 700 now. I know I haven't seen you on here much and was just curious how you were getting along with it. You're one I bring up when everyone asks about the longevity of the 700 and I think you had about 7-8000 miles the last time I remember and use it everyday. I hope you can find your problem.

I have a 700-4 also. If I jack up the rear mine has a considerable amount of slack in the universal joints on both sides at the diff. Mine makes a lot of noise in rough terrain and when you stop. Already had to replace the drive shaft at 20 hours.
