P1000 Rattling noise

Ok I have a 2016 pioneer 1000 and it just start making a rattling noise from the engine area. Never done this before. Their are no lights on the dash board and it’s not smoking either. The noise stays the same idling or running down the road.

So, could it be a rattling from a heat shield? Or is it more like the rattling when the engine is under rev'd in a higher gear then it's supposed to be??

The noise stays the same no matter if I’m idled or running wide open.

On my 2016 the clamp on the lower part of the exhaust header heat shield came off the shield causing it to rattle.??

Up on my bike. My kids ran it low on gas. And was going down the road and it just died out. And now it will not start. I changed the spark plugs. I did have the dealership fix the injector harness recall.
I’m not sure if I’m getting enough pressure from my fuel pump. It is putting out gas. Need help 🤦‍♂️

Ok finally found the problem with my motor. The 2 bolts that hold the timing chain sprocket on have backed out and fallen off. So the cam shaft is not turning but the timing chain is

I think you have something else going on here, your bike wouldn't run if the camshaft isn't turning (opening and closing valves).

It’s not running at all right now. At first it was only making a rattling noise then it stopped running all together a couple of days later. Sorry for the misleading. So I order 2 bolts to put it back together

Make sure you get the timing set right so you don’t damage the motor.

Yikes if the cam hasn't been turning and you've been spinning the motor over with the starter . I'm kinda thinking there's a good chance that you've got some bent valves and possible piston damage or bent connecting rod ??

Ok I hope this is the final post about my bike. I got the new bolts in and retimed the motor. Everything is running great so far. No more noise as far as now !

I'm glad you got everything going. I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around your fix for that problem, but congrats that worked for you!

Of all the motors I've rebuilt in my days, you are one lucky guy!

It sounds like you hit the lottery. I dont have that luck.
