Figured I'd try to help someone out.
My p1000-5 rack and pinion was fairly dry of grease and noisy at certain steering points.
I took some marine grease in a marinade injector, snuck it up under the tie rod hood and let it hav'er. No more noise/metal on metal. Did both sides.
