I can see I'm already too late... butDoes anyone have a proven method for carrying a rifle on a P5. I've looked at some of the stuff that's available on-line, but have not been too impressed. Some don't have very good reviews from folks who have tried them.
I think that's the route I'm going in the 1000 but I'm attaching it to the roof.I used a soft pack case that securely strapped to the back of ROPs. It is padded and has zipper closer. Will carry two rifles/shotguns in separate pockets. Works great. No dust or water gets in.
I use the rhino grips. Like you, I went through a few that I didn't like first.

Same here got it at Cabelas. My problem is finding a solution for my TenPoint Crossbow....I used a soft pack case that securely strapped to the back of ROPs. It is padded and has zipper closer. Will carry two rifles/shotguns in separate pockets. Works great. No dust or water gets in.

Did you ever find a solution?Same here got it at Cabelas. My problem is finding a solution for my TenPoint Crossbow....
not really. I use the seatbelt to hold it in place and just wrap it in a fleece blanket to keep the dust away from it. I only have about 15 minutes of trails to do to get to my blind so it does the trick...Did you ever find a solution?
It all depends on how and where you hunt. In Idaho my rifle sits upright in a gun fork I mounted to the dash. In Colorado, the rifle has to be completely enclosed in a gun case, which I use a Kolpin gun case mounted on my rack right behind me for easy access.. whatever works best for you is the best option.Does anyone have a proven method for carrying a rifle on a P5. I have an overhead gun rack and it works great for carbine length rifles. I have a Ruger Mini30 that rides great in it. I also have a 22" barrel Knight muzzle loader that works well. My other rifles are too long but it works the muzzle just sticks out a couple inches.
