What Will Happen to Honda's Lawn Mower Manufacturing Plant?

Honda's gas-powered lawn mowers are currently being produced at the Honda Power Equipment facility in Swepsonville, North Carolina. Next year that facility will instead begin making all-terrain vehicles, which are currently being produced at its plant in Timmonsville, South Carolina. The Timmonsville plant will shift to focus solely on Honda side-by-side production.

There was some more news on this. Like Honda is completely haunting lawn mower production or something.
I'll find it.

Can you even make ATVs in a lawn mower factory?

The new LawnTrax 400:

I have a hunch that this means they'll he going electric mower soon. Which is already a thing in Australia.
Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 Honda Tech. that would not Suprise me, I heard it was mostly due to the constant battle with the EPA

I'm very surprised they hadnt done it already tbh. They don't produce the batteries for the Australian models, someone else does they just use them to power their products. I don't know why they haven't done it here. In Japan they have a 1 battery fits all solution with public exchanges.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours as well.

I thought the press release said that can't turn a profit competing with discount brands at big box home improvment stores and are out of the mainstream mower business. (After losing money since the market crash in 2008).

Sadly, when I lived in Japan 20 years ago honda had a battery in a box like the Jackery.
It even paired with there portable generators where the battery would help start big loads like AC units then be recharged when the load was reduced.
If they had developed that concept they could have been Jackery...

Thats possible, I mean we sell the heck out of walk behind mowers and service tons every season.

That battery idea is super interesting and very Honda like, never bring cool ideas to market until someone else does it already. But most of this country doesn't see the value in quality anymore, it's lowest price and ill buy It again when It breaks. It's hard to sell a product you know is better when someone else is selling the same thing for half or less even though it's a pile of s***.

That mind set is universal in every thing, homes to automobiles. If you want quality you'r going to have to pay the difference.

It's getting more difficult to buy anything because of inflation. Also with everything going electric how will we produce enough electricity without adding CO2.

Not everything! Maybe in The Peoples Socialist Republic Of Kalifornia! Theres still many doing there best not too! The Main stream media will only show you and to make u believe that everything is going electric. They wont report who is leading the charge to not.
