I wouldnt trust a plug in one. You want it wired in for true accuracy. what do u mean you mean you've run out of room?
pics please
The wire in volt meeter is the size of a silver dollar.

I have the two defrost vents and two rockers and will have some toggle switches mounting in the cutout dash area.

I like your setup. I'll measure the area on the first suggestion in the center dash as soon as my wife gets back with it. She just went down the driveway with the grandkids a moment a go. Don't think it's a big enough area but we'll know in a little bit.

That ball mount you've got. Is it screws or did you use lock nuts on the back side?
Bolts with nuts. You want it or anything your mounting that way in a sxs. The bouncing and vibration will rip screws right out.

the Ball is called a Ram Mount

I see. I was for sure they were 2". I wonder what the over all outside diameter of the face plate is on the gauge. I see Amazon has 1.9" in the description but never get the measurements right. It doesn't look that much bigger if you have to only drill a 1.15" hole. That's about 1 5/16" diameter hole. It will still be close because I don't even have 2" of space.
Nope 1”

How do you wire them so there not on all the time.
This is what you want to buy. Get it from the store. Dont worry, youll find a spot. Either in my location or where we circled for you. Theres detailed instructions in the kit

The round ones will go where a switch won't, though I guess Remington put a rocker where I have mine. The little round push button, below the voltmeter, applies a momentary ground so you can check battery voltages without turning key on. This is advantageous as you read "unloaded" main battery voltage (without system loading it down as with key on).

I like that idea too. I'm still putting everyting together and trying to figure what I can do. The main project is to get the new bumper, which isn't here yet, and the winch mounted. I only have one battery at this time and don't plan to add another one until a little later on.
