I have been thinking about using the reduction gear out of the Rincon . my fear was losing to much first gear. so I ran some ratio numbers from the two manuals. the big thing I can see here is the cruse speed will be 1000 rpms less. that's what im really looking for since we spend a good part of our time at 30 mph. you can see by the pioneer number we probably average 8 to 10 mph of converter slip. my bike shifts out of second under load at about 23 or 24 mph but the gearing is 32 mph at 6800

6800 in each gear not including converter slip with 27 in tires
18 mph 23 mph
32 mph 42mph
50 mph 63 mph

4000 rpm first gear= 10.8 mph Rincon gear 13.4

4000 rpm third gear = 29.2 mph Rincon gear 37.2 mph
3000 rpm third gear= 22.1 mph Rincon gear 28.1

so im still thinking about it cant decide. it 50 bucks and a days work to try it. of Course it another days work if I don't like it.
I wish this think had a lock up converter that would solve everything

SEEMS like it would work. Hey what's two days of wrenching right?!? Honestly though I think you're on to something here. You're not even going to need a 1000!

Is there any gears that you can get a lower first gear. I hate to loose top end. But the improvement in low end would make up for it I think.
