The 28’s worked great with a top speed of 44 mph. I thought about doing the Quad gear install for more top speed. I need the 28’s for sand wash rides.

I just installed 32’s in the back and get a top speed of 50 mph. This lets me cruise in the low to mid 40’s without getting into the rev limiter. The engine is happy at around 4,500 rpm to a bit over 6,000. I think the rev limit is at 7,200. I can hit the rev limiter in high gear at 5,000 feet elevation so I think this is about perfect gearing.

I use 2WD most all of the time on the desert and forest roads so no problem with the large rear tires. On rides where I need 4WD I can use my 28’s.

Occasionally we have a washout where 4WD may be needed. I can use 4WD briefly to get through. As soon as the rear wheels slip the lower geared front wheels will work and I would only need to use the 4WD for about 10 feet.

The 32’s were hard to seat the bead so I had to use a bead seater. I laid the wheel on 4x4 blocks so the bead was at the lower edge of the wheel. I used 100 psi to seat the bead. It wasn’t fully seated so I had to bring the air up from around 15 psi to 30 to fully seat the bead. It's important to wear hearing protection.

I think the quad gear set is a little too high. My rancher would go 56 mph. I need to be able to quickly change back to the 28's for sand wash rides where I need 4WD.

My '06 Foreman 500 does 53 or some such. Don't much care. I love the climbing ability of the P5. That's the fun stuff for me, but we don't have the big open areas you do.

I dunno......the frame repair might require me to open the back of the engine......😈😆
