Does anyone cook on one. If so do you mind sharing the pros and cons. I'm looking hard at converting over to one. Especially the smaller models, I can take it camping, down to the cabin etc. thank you in advance.

Im storing my son in laws Tteager here at the house. It works great ot does take a little maintenance but it works great. He has had it a couple ueats now and i think its going to need some parts replaced on it. (Auger, drip pan and dire deflector). I do like the fast startup and shutdown when using it. It also is great for grillling fast and smoking slow. I do know that he has had some trouble using off nrand pellets ( Walmart and discount brands)

I have cooked a lot on a green mountain. They are awesome. They really make it easy to smoke. Briskets and pork butts are so easy to do. My dad bought the small green mountain one and liked it so much he actually became a dealer. I also have done some venison roasts. So good.

You won't be disappointed with a green mountain grill.

Jimmy AZ is right. The small green mountain one can also run on 12 volt which would be convenient for camping or tailgating. It's called the Davey Crockett.

That's a good question. It would be close I think. Depends how far down the leg is cut. Should fit. I can easily fit a large pork butt cut into two pieces side by side.

I have cooked a lot on a pellet grill for many years. Can turn out some good food on them. I'd rather use a weber or ceramic grill for some things but a pellet grill with a digital setting can be quite nice and easy to operate and turn out consistant food without an overpowering smoke.

Then don't look at ceramic off brands start at $500+

Not sure about pellet, but we've had one ceramic in 7 years and not a single piece even looks like I need to consider replacing it and I used to replace a gas grill about every 18-24 months.

They are expensive, but you're paying for the convenience and ease of use. But shop around and you can find deals. The small green mountain one can be had for $350. Maybe even $325 if you find the right dealer. And that model has standard wifi control. You can operate the grill and read temp and food temp from your phone. On their website it allows you to search for dealers near you. Go visit them and see who will give you the best deal.

My father in law does that exactly:)he sets the pellets on a metal plate near the charcoal....If you don't like preventative maintenance stay away from pellets.
