P1000 P1K-5 dealer checklist!

Hello! So, thanks to Honda's design and reputation, and all the great information on here, it looks like we are getting close to purchasing a machine!

We are just finalizing pricing, and have determined that the hard top, split hard coat windshield, fabric doors and back panel, with heater and switch plate are what we need to enjoy it up here (we are in Alberta)

I searched but cant find a check list done up for that exciting time when you go pick up your new purchase..

(I have seen them in the past for other large purchases I have done)

Any suggestions on what to make sure you check before you take the machine, or what you wish YOU would have checked at the dealership when you picked it up?

Getting pretty excited! Have never owned a SXS or quad before! This will be for our lake house, and will be what we use whenever we cant be in the boat..

Any suggestions on accessories?

There is a list you sign off on at time of purchase saying the dealer went over many different things with you, when presented with it if you are unsure of anything on the list ask as they are obligated to go over every single thing on the list if need be and there are dozens of checkboxes.

You got the main core of accessories but I would add a winch to that, pack on snow n ice and you have 2000 lbs. to move if you get stuck.

Here is a copy of my checklist when I bought mine you and the salesman sign at the bottom etc. which is redacted.

OK!!! Just put down the deposit and pick it up on Friday!! (this is going to be a LONG week!!)
Getting all the options listed above, plus the mirrors. I am really excited! Time to start tracking down the non Honda accessories! Pictures to come!

Took mine back with 10 mile's, after a few minute's of driving, loud screaching in two wheel drive, go's away in four wheel drive. The dealer said front diff was WAY low, inspected, noted in my file, filled and is perfect now. So, you may tell them to check diff's. Ed

I guess these things are shipped without fluids?
Either way - that's some sloppy work - we pay good money for PDI.

No s***, I was more than a little upset. Waited three months for it, rode 20 min.

Congrats you will love it. Did you get tires too?

I didn't go for tires. Don't think I will need them for the riding that we will be doing (mostly snow and then grass and unimproved rural road allowances in the spring/summer) I might get proved wrong! Have quite a list already of winch, radio, led lights, horn etc! Bussman fuseblock is on order already, this week is taking forever! (last motorcycle I bought, I waited 5 months for it to arrive...you can imagine how much I spent in accessories waiting for it to show up!)

Yeah you can spend a lot very quickly. I would not want to wait even a week but 5 months would be extremely difficult. I still didn't get tires on mine but even the stocks are good. I do a lot of mudding, rocks and deep snow etc so I should have got them right away.

I think someone had to answer for it. They were no happier than I was, and at least they were honest about it..
