P1000 Oversized blank switch

I have a pioneer 1000-5 Deluxe. i did a few mods already with gear from the club store.

One thing, I have been trying to remove the blank switch plate next to the AT/MT switch but with zero luck. I am trying not to break it but want it out. I can almost touch the back of it but my hand gets jammed. I assume there are tabs that need to be depressed?

I got mine out and using my Dremel hollowed it out to put my corded winch remote plug there. I “think” I just pried it out and it popped right out. Can’t remember for sure.

Insert a pic at the top and bottom about 3/4 inch. But no guarantee it won't dimple it where the pic was.

Hello all
I tried using my hand to reach the back but not luck without removing a few things. I was too lazy.

So I used the edge of of a ruler to push out the clip at the bottom. It took some effort but after I heard a click sound the bottom of the blank could be pried out. I had to insert the ruler in by close to one inch.

the blank looks like

the final result was a horn switch. I used a blank to hold the switch I had on hand. However it does not fit well so I will need to buy the blank on the club store
