New to the forum ... wanna thank honda sxs definitely for this ... I will be purchasing an 700-4 because of all the positive feedback ... but one question ... what exactly do the offsets help on wheels .... like the difference between an 5-2 and a 4-3. And what exactly is the offset?

Hey HondaTim.
Here is a quick run through.
Lets use your example of a 7 inch wheel.

A 5-2 has 5 inches inside from the spindle and 2 inches on the outside.

A 4-3 will have 4 inside and 3 outside. The 4-3 will give you a wider foot print and will be 2 inches wider then if you installed the 5-2

I have been wanting to do a write up but never got around to it.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Thank you sir ... preciate the response ... sooo a 9 inch wide tire in the front for a wider foot print would be like a 5-4 or a 6-3 ... thats what I wanna run in the front is a 9 inch ... the stock tires on the pioneer is an 8 inch correct

Yes on the 9 inch with a 5-4 or 6-3.
And NO on the OEM Pioneer wheels being 7 inches. We have the info somewhere. Stand by I will find it.

Actual offset specs are not posted by Honda. But the actual rim size is printed on the wheel.
Here is what we measure them out to be.
Front 12x6 with a 4.5+1.5 offset.
Rear is 12x7.5 with a 6+1.5 offset.

the fronts are 4 1/2 x 1 1/2 wheel offsets are measured by the mounting surface to the bead lip on both sides both measurements will equal rim width
