Bought a new Chevrolet Z 71 in 15 and a 2017 Toyota Tundra this year, both came with OEM Good Year tires, both had catastrophic tread/belt failure, busted the belts with under 15,000 miles on them. Had to buy real tires for both. I know the mgfs. set the specs.for there OEM tires. Good Year and other tire mgfs. may need to rethink who is telling them how to build tires. I'll never buy another truck or car with Good Year on it, further more I wouldn't have a Good Year tire on my wheel barrow. And would never think about buying Good Year as a replacement tire! Or buy a truck with 20 inch rims, tire selection is very limited at this time, you have two selections ,275 55 20- 4 ply (stock) or 265 55 10 ply.

There are lots of options in 20’s now and the price has come waaay down. I just put a set of Hankook dynapro at’s on both my trucks.. $700 a set. They came stock on the ford and I had 55k miles on them when I replaced them and they still had some tread life. I was impressed with how they performed and lasted so I put them on both vehicles.

My 2003 F250 4x4 came with BF Goodrich on it. I never had them before, but was totally impressed by them, 95,000 miles on the 1st set. Amazing for a Ford which normally eat tires. 2nd set, 90,000. 3rd set, 85,000 and got my 1st front end alignment. On my 4th set of BFG’s with 298,000 miles on the truck.

BF Goodrich all the way for truck tires.

My new 2017 Chevy has Bridgestone's and it looks like I going to be lucky if I get 20,000 miles out of them. I'll go with Michelin's, they have done well on my other trucks.

The cheap wranglers my Chevy came with got me stuck on a slight wet grass slope in 4LOW.

less than 200miles on them I went ahead and swapped for BFG KOs which I’ve probably had 15-20 sets of and gotten a solid 60k average out of per set.

A week later we had an ice storm and in 4H I wasn’t even slipping.

BIG DIFFERENCE. I put a second set on at 65k and the KO2 we’re out seem to be a bit quieter on pavement but wear the same it’s getting ready to need at set and I’m at 110k.

What ply are they? I could have put Yokahomas on for that but were 4 plies, Ive had enough of 4 plies. The drive way from the hi way to the cabin is about 2 miles, 470 feet of elevation change and takes 22 minutes in low range 4 wd.
