Hello all. New to the group. Just wanted to say hello. I don’t currently own a sxs but hope to someday. I’m actually eyeballing an old big red. Any reason the 2008 model is hard to find parts for? When I look for that particular year it typically shows starting in 2009 and up. Anyway thanks for having me on board.
Btw… PA here.

Welcome from Michigan

Skip the Big Red and get a Pioneer of some sort for the reason your asking. You have 3 to choose from and youll like either much better in the long run!
But who are we? We only know Honda’s!
Good Luck and post pics of what you get

Welcome from the Black Hills of South Dakota. As stated above, you will find yourself happier with a Pioneer (any model) that 16 year old Big Red. Good luck with your hunt and be sure to share pics of what you find. Lots of super knowledgeable members here to help you out, you just need to give them all the information you are presented with. Take care.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. A pioneer would be great. Unfortunately the savings account says big red that will most likely need work lol. I like to tinker anyway so it’s all good

Then perhaps you may wish to wait and save up a few more doll hairs. I'd hate to see you buy something that's difficult to find parts for, then end up with something you can't run if something does go bad.

Regardless, good luck with your adventures!

If it were me I'd look for something other than a older Big Red if funds are tight, even a Yamaha Rhino or Kawasaki Mule(or early Teryx) would be a better choice. The B.R./Rincon (P700) powertrains are known to eat camshafts and can have finicky transmissions, especially if not properly maintained.
