I passed over a couple threads about tailgate cables and never paid attention. What's the issue?

Tailgate doesn't open flat, it has a slight upwards tilt. You can extend the tailgate brackets, cables or add an extension like @1BadDart did.

I ordered the tailgate extension accessory from Honda. Wonder if it fixes that. Will see soon.

LOL. I put the holes on 3/4" centers.
