P1000 Mirrors with oem glass?

Will the factory Honda mirrors work with the Honda glass windshield? I hated not having mirrors my first trip out. What about aftermarket?
Also how are the LED lights? Is additional lighting necessary?

LED lights are pretty bright, I went with the seizmik mirrors, they are tough!

If u do a lot of night riding u'll want to get some kind of other lighting as well. A small light bar and some pods usually do the trick. And the hondasxs store has a nice back up light set up, plug n play.

So I am having problems confirming whether or not mirrors will work with the Honda OEM glass windshield. And I am definitely ordering that light bar kit from the store when it becomes available!

I have the Seismik break away mirrors and put them in my 1000-5 with factory hard glass. No problems. They are off now for soft upper doors.

Honda finally confirmed they will work with the oem windshield and hard doors. Not sure about the soft doors.

I think with the hard doors the OEM mirrors end up mounting directly to the door. I thought I saw that on the door installation directions.

Ditto on Seizmik mirrors, love them. I have the reasonably priced model 18080 breakaway ABS mirrors. Great warranty too! Work just fine on our P1000s with OEM glass windshield or Honda short windscreen or Rogue Powersports windscreen. Also work well with my buddies Talon, though different model because of it’s 2” diameter ROPS tubing. Not sure about upper doors, I’d say probably not. We don’t use uppers here in the SW desert.

There is a seal/wind deflector that attaches to the ROPs where the mirror goes. You could cut this to add the mirrors or put them higher or lower, I think. I just elected not to put them on till I take the doors off. I'll try to remember to get a front pic tonight or tomorrow.
