Any thoughts about the following ?

HONDA PIONEER 1000 28" MAXXIS RAMPAGE ATV TIRE & 14" ST-4 WHEEL KIT 13710K

Seller has them on EBay with good reviews. I didn’t want to lift the machine and they claim these just bolt on with no modifications necessary such as spacers etc.is that true??

Michigan Seller Tirescheap on EBay had them listed for $1299 delivered.i wanted a good tire for on and off road use. As I know the stock tires are not street legal

Any suggestions or experience with these wheels and/or tires?

Doubt those are street legal either. Depending on the wheel offsets you may want to put spacers in the rear just to even the track width. Before I ordered online I would verify offset and lug spacing.

It looks like there are no wheel or tire specific data in the listing.

Do you need DOT rated street legal tires?

If your budget is $1300 there is alot to pick from. You may have to have the tires mounted and balanced at a local shop (if you choose an alternate option from your current pick)

Unless the wheels match factory offset, which I see no indication of, then the rear will not be as wide as the front and spacers will be needed to correct that. I do not see spacers in the listing details.

Thanks for all the comments....
Well this is my first experience with this so forgive me ahead of time. No experience with spacers and offsets...?
So they don't have a DOT stamp on them.
Here are the specs:
10" width
28" Diameter
4-137 Bolt pattern
offset is 5+2
8 Ply Radial Tire

They are Maxxis Rampage Tires mounted on Black Machined System 3 Brand wheel Width 7 and Diameter 14"

I don't think Tennessee requires DOT tires for on road use according to what I have read,,,

If I remember correctly the NHTSA no longer approves UTV/ATV tires for any DOT use. I think that is why most use LT tires for DOT road requirements. I am not sure if 235/75R15 will fit a stock machine. Maybe someone on here can verify that. I use a set of Achilles Desert Hawk MT 30x9.50r15 LT tires for at home use. I have forward arms with 3" of lift built in from C-Fab that help clear those nicely.

Quick online search and I found a system 3 wheel for $500 for a set of 4. You could most likely catch them on a sale sometime.

$800 is average for a set of Maxxis Rampage it seems.

Then you need lugnuts (maybe $30)
And local mounting/balancing ($60)

I feel like $1300 is not a bad price for a complete set.

You might be able to go cheaper with a set of vision wheels for $400, then milestar patagonia (which is kind of a maxxis knockoff) for $460. But you still need lugnuts and mounting.

The only experience I have with maxxis is the bighorn on the stock 1000-5. They seemed great. When I went to a larger tire I was really tore with the thought of getting the bighorns just because of how well they took me everywhere I wanted to go. I liked the SuperATV Intimidator look tho better.

So if the offset is 5+3 on the rear and 5+2 on the front, would I need a one inch rear spacer to make the track correct? If the new wheels and tires are 5+2?

I think that is correct but I hope other forum members will help confirm that so I am not the only one to blame :p

No you wouldn't need a spacer based on what you posted. But you're saying that the rear wheel is 8" wide and the front is 7" by the offsets you've given.

I may have not been clear….

OE Honda Wheels and Tires currently on the machine are 5+3 Rear and 5+2 Front

The Aftermarket wheels and Tires set are all 5+2 (all 4 of them are identical)

You’ll be fine with or without a rear spacer. I had 28’s on mine without a spacer for quite some time. I then added a 1” spacer on the back.

These pics are without.

Thank you sir! Go Vols! 😎
28X10-14 tire on 5+2 rims with a 1inch spacer on the rear will work perfect. That's what I had. Pull the pin and do it. Then you will want 30's. Hahahha! To go with 30's you will need offset a-arms and spacers on all wheels. To be honest I will probably go back to 28's after my 30's are worn.

If you have the 14” rims now get some 29” bighorns 8plys
