Hey all!

So yesterday (Saturday) was the first opportunity me and my son got to take out new Pioneer 520. We’ve had it for three weeks now, but Utah weather hasn’t been the best - pretty cold over the last few weekends. Actually, the last three weeks in the Salt Lake Area as been that of “nice work week; crummy weekends”. And even yesterday wasn’t all that great on account of the wind.

Anyhow, for those familiar with the Tooele / Vernon area, we took our new sweet ride out to Prospector Pass. We had been out there once before in November on my Mule SX LE. Talk about an immediate difference in fun. The Mule was fun...but the Pioneer was really FUN. Anyhow, we got to transition from dusty roads into muddy trails—what fun!. With the snow melting, there was plenty of areas to mud through. We had a blast - and got soaked. Some of these puddles were a little more deeper than expecting for speed. Three times we got doused in mud - similar to the Log Ride at Disneyland. Splashing into the water and watching a wave of mud water come through the cab. Fortunately we were wearing helmets and goggles so it wasn’t too bad in that regards but the cooler temperatures eventually got to us. The other fun thing was upon exiting the mud to harder ground; watching all the mud sling forward from our rear tires. I had put 1.5 spacers on the rear, so my mirrors quickly became useless. The only unfortunate part about our trip was due to being doused in mud water several times and climbing in elevation, the cooler temperature started to set in. So we turned around and got one more opportunity to enjoy the soggy trails and head home. Our maiden voyage equated to 3 hours of fun and 3.5 hours of cleaning. I can’t believe all the locations mud can get caked into this machine.

Of course, without pics - I’d didn’t happen. Enjoy the attached!

Looks like you guys had a fun ride. What is the slotted black panel attached behind the seat near the headrests and what is it used for?

We did! So the slotted thing in the back is a metal molle panel. I bought it for several purposes. It is made by DeeZee for Jeep. I bought it to mount my JBL Charge 4 as well as to close up the cab a little bit. I will probably get some additional molle gear and i recently made a switch plate cover into my plate to hold my OHV stickers.
