P1000m5 Machine just cut out

I was riding last weekend, had been riding 2-3 hours with no problem and all of a sudden my machine was acting like it was flooding out. Surging bad enough that it would barely crawl on level ground. I turned the key off, set for30 seconds, restarted it and it ran fine from then on. Anyone else had any similar experience or reason why this might have happened?

YOu need to check them before shutting key off.

Once you know. Come back and let us know. Try to video the code as well, you could interpret differently than us. A good minute of video of the dash will help.

What happened when you gave it gas? Did it act like someone pushed in the clutch pedal? Engine revs but no forward motion? Did you distinguish between engine or tranny related? Tell me more, I may have an idea what happened.....

The engine sounded like it was flooding but surging. when the rpm’s increased, it would creep forward, then the rpms drop and not enough to move at all. Just surging engine, up and down.

Mine had like 3 hours on it and did the exact same thing it just acted like it was missing or kind of a surge like a fuel filter was clogged up and it wouldn't clear out didn't matter neutral or what I limped it back to the house shut it off started it up and it's been fine for 1700 miles now . Weird

The code flashed. 72 i think. Right in the first 25 seconds. Phone was everywhere and it may have been higher.

This is basically what mine did the first week I had it. The dealer reprogrammed the computer and it's never happened again. That was 1300 miles ago.
